What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have a great deal of experience helping friends and high school peers with difficult concepts. I love helping my friends and peers succeed as it not only tests my problem-solving skills but also demonstrates my confidence in an area of study to the point where I'm capable of teaching the concept better than the teachers can, something I take a lot of pride in. Aside from that, I'd hate to see people unable to succeed in their goals, so seeing a student grow academically and reach their potential is super rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Having been academically stunted up until year 7, I can sympathise with students who struggle to grasp basic concepts, so I'm able to share what I've done to overcome my past difficulties, and I have a plethora of tips and tricks in my tool box to overcome these hurdles. Having recently done VCE Specialist and VCE Methods in 2024 and placing in the top 10% in Methods, not only have I developed a high level of mathematical skills, but I also have a strong understanding of the current study design, which will enable me to provide strategies on maximising marks.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
My philosophy as a tutor is productivity over hard work. Tutors shouldn't just provide step answers for students to memorise, take their assessments and then forget it afterwards but, instead, should provide guidance and advice for students to understand the necessary steps and concepts leading to that solution. I understand that everyone learns differently and at different paces, so being able to tailor my teaching styles and being patient and supportive is integral to catering for students' needs, regardless of their academic levels.
