My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe my strengths lie in my positive attitude and the confidence to engage anyone. As my work with the Red Cross involves interaction with young children, I have developed the patience necessary to deal with students of any age. I am adept at encouragement and facilitation and am skilled at making challenges appear accessible. My main weakness is my tendency to provide answers immediately when asked by the student. I am working on my ability to encourage the student to attempt the entire problem before providing feedback on their answer, rather than helping excessively during the process.

I believe a tutor's role is to guide, facilitate and provide feedback on the student's own work. It is essential that the student independently develops the skills necessary to become competent. A tutor's role in this process is to encourage the student to explore their own knowledge, and provide tips to consolidate their understanding, and make the process easier.
