What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy the most about tutoring is quite simply being able to help a person when they are not able to understand a certain topic. The moment when it all clicks in their head and the look of satisfaction and the Eureka moment is all worth it. It's because as a student myself, I understand all the frustration one can experience as a student and even I was helped by my peers which made me very happy. And it is that kind of happiness that I want to provide when tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths I would say is patience and also dilligence. I've built up a lot of patience during my 6 months stint as a middle school teacher where I had to put myself in their shoes and adjust my teaching abilities to suit someone much younger. This helps me teach even the most difficult student and as a student, it is something I know they will appreciate.
I would like to think myself as very dilligent as well - in being hardworking and well-prepared before attending any meeting. In being a tutor, I think being prepared is essential as it will help smoothen any session ahead.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to provide different of point of views to a student. I realized that the best tutors are not the one that knows the most but the ones that gives the best point of view to a subject to a student. My favourite teacher used to say, study hard but also study smart. A great tutor would form a good understanding on how to best teach a student a certain topic and make the student feel comfortable in studying and never stressed. Every session with them would be fruitful and it never feels truly like a chore.
