What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Creating an impact on the students.
It's not only about helping students to get good grades, it's more about guiding them to establish a good study habit and develop several learning strategies so that they are set on a good path towards success.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
1. Patience: I really like slowly explaining problems to students. I can convert the problems into something that they are familiar with and use visual diagrams to assist their understanding (I'm a visual learner too)
2. My education degree: I'm currently studying for a secondary education degree at UQ with teaching areas in maths and physics. I hope can put the teaching theories I learned into practice.
3. My passion for STEM: Throughout high school, I have participated in a huge amount of STEM competitions and activities. I hope I can pass this passion to my student
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Building connections with students:
A crucial thing for a tutor to do is being a good listener. This includes listening to students' fears and insecurities from school and hearing their goals and ambitions for life. Being a good tutor is about helping students to get through high school not only academically, but also socially and mentally.
Furthermore, sharing my own experience is another important thing. By sharing the problems I previously encountered, my students will be more comfortable and confident to deal with similar problems in the future. This is also another way to develop trust.
