What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is making a significant, positive impact in education. I am extremely passionate about connecting with others and assessing what their personal goals, values and strengths are and how to utilise these attributes to an optimistic learning environment.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor is my adaptable and kind personality. I am extremely understanding and encouraging and every student I’ve mentored has my best intentions in mind. I am a compassionate teacher, and my understanding of teaching is that everybody is capable of being successful.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to not only instruct, but listen. Tutoring is a beneficial one on one experience, therefore tutoring has opportunities to become specialised for the students benefit. This can be achieved with asking questions such as “How is this content relevant to the student?†or “Does the student respond quicker to an alternative form of teaching?â€

Rachel demonstrated she could count in 2’s fluently eg. 2,4,6,8. This supported her double addition numbers eg. 4+4=8, 5+5=10 where all of the answered were you even and countable in her 2’s pattern. Rachel was confident in her work and recognised activities more fluently.
Rachel was extremely well behaved and adjusted well to the content provided. Needed to ask for attention during the last ten minutes, however made a great effort and active enthusiasm.

Rachel entered the lesson with a great attitude which affected her learning greatly. There were limited distractions and showed a confident approach. Lessons followed Rachel’s own pace and found sections where she was “teaching” and in control of her learning.
Rachel is still on simple addition, shapes and doubles and needs much more practice. However, her attitude towards maths and tutor has grown positive and is bound to positively impact her lessons.
Rachel enjoyed the ability to “create” an activity that she could see she was immediately benefiting from.

There were no outstanding issues or concerns throughout this lesson. The student received lots of praise after seeing quick and most importantly enjoyable and encouraging results.
Rachel is very confident in counting and this skill works well when paired with drawing, colouring and “reward” like activities while learning.

Rachel was unconfident with simple addition with using hands. However, she felt more comfortable counting the tutors hands and watching the process as a visual.
