What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
For me, I enjoy watching students have the light bulb moment when they understand a concept or topic. I think it's so incredible to be able to watch the improvement over a period of time and seeing them become more confident. I also love challenging others and pushing them outside their comfort zone so when they do their exams, they have the tools to be able to handle anything.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe I am an incredibly patient and encouraging person which I truly think will make me a good tutor. Students need mentors who can sit with them through the moments of unease or confusion and really guide them to a place where they can understand and thrive. I also believe i am an extremely organised person and I have developed time management skills over the past few years which will help me manage a job as well as the demands of an intense course such as medicine. I also love children and interacting with them!
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is really spend the time and be patient with the students' needs to improve on the skill they may be struggling on. I believe it's vital that the student feels safe and comfortable to make mistakes and learn from them. I also believe that tutors can not only guide students with their academic endeavours but also be a mentor for them in all aspects of their life whilst maintaining a professional relationship.

Sometimes she struggles with focus and gets side-tracked but she is a very keen student who I am excited to work with
She explained the homework to me well and was eager to tell me what the task required of her.

I've encouraged Selina to slow down when reading questions to ensure she answers all details that the task asks for.
I understood Selina's way of thinking and learning to cater for future lessons. She felt comfortable reading aloud to me even though she prefers to read in her head.
