What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I most enjoy being able to see overtime
improvement in the student and building a
positive rapport with them in order for them to
consider learning as a source of joy as opposed
to it being associated with discontentment. This proves to be effective in the student’s overall performance. Furthermore, it is an opportunity for I, myself, to dissect the topics I have divulged in to its fundamentals to the benefit of comprehension for both me and the student.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My personal strengths are affability, building rapport, and overall knowledge of the subject matter. The above factors working in tandem have seen a great improvement in topic test results and a high mark for semester year group testing for the student I have mentored. In addition, my punctuality towards online meeting times and response to questions outside of allotted time has made it so that the student saw me as a reliable figure.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor, fundamentally, serves a purpose to give the student additional knowledge or hone their pre existing knowledge. To achieve this, not only academic aptitude is highly pivotal, a strong and individual-catered means of transferring said intelligence is vital. This is one of the factors which differ classroom teachers from tutors as they are unable to provide and adapt to each individual student’s best means of learning and information intake.

Cailyn did well in learning the overall process and setting out of bracket expansion. She also was able to retain prior knowledge of indices and was able to apply them well. When simplifying, she was able to identify the highest common denominator to be used.
Cailyn struggled when she had to, instead, simplify expressions. Whilst she was able to identify which number to place outside the brackets, she was occasionally incorrect in deciding which values to stay inside the brackets.
