What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoyed when students became more comfortable with learning maths and were easily able to solve the questions they previously had difficulty solving.
It was great watching students progress/ fluency in solving maths problems and using their knowledge to solve physics and chemistry related questions.
I enjoyed when students started liking maths and were excited to solve questions despite the problem's level of difficulty.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
When I taught students as a group, I would show them different methods of solving questions which gave them the opportunity to choose a method they feel comfortable using.
When teaching older years, I provide them with all necessary background knowledge that will help them solve the problem.
When creating practice questions, I broke the question into different parts, so students were easily able to solve the sections that required more work.
To help primary students solve word problems, I provide them with exemplar questions that link to their interests and daily life.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should first strengthen students' base knowledge before exposing them to new concepts. A tutor can simplify complex mathematical concepts into terms that are more easily understandable to students. A tutor should help students excel at maths by providing them with more complex and challenging questions. This way students are exposed to a variety of problems and are easily able to apply their mathematical knowledge into various real life scenarios.
