What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring for me is the opportunity to share my knowledge and approach to maths. For many people, being good at maths is a real confidence boost, but it's also a skill so many fields want; maths is essential. Therefore, I find teaching maths really rewarding and feel happy to see anyone achieve their goals - big or small.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am highly competent in maths and can confidently explain mathematical concepts that are necessary to succeeding. I am currently studying maths at a university level, meaning that I am being constantly exposed to different teaching styles and meeting new peers who have different approaches to learning maths. Most importantly, I am friendly and genuinely passionate for maths and hope to share that at least somewhat with students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
- Preparing questions which are unique or less commonly found in a textbook which can really test a student's conceptual understanding.
- Prepare learning materials (as required) which are easy to read and provide summaries.
- I will be open to criticism / feedback.
- I am able to be someone who can assist in less academic needs (for example exam preparation is more than just being good at answering questions, its a mental process and tutors with experience in this can be both comforting and helpful).
- I am friendly and someone who gets along as best they can with students.
