What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I find great joy in being able to share in enthusiasm around a subject matter with others (such as an interesting thought in English, or a satisfying proof in Maths). Also, I love to reassure someone that not understanding something is perfectly normal, it is important to me that the people I interact with never feel looked down upon. Above all, I enjoy being a part of someone's learning journey, uplifting them on it and seeing them develop!
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My greatest strength is that I genuinely care about everyone I interact with. I spend a lot of time and brain power devoted to how to better uplift others, how to make learning more enjoyable, helpful and relevant to their situation.
I am a bright, warm and energetic teacher. I will constantly ask questions to gauge a student's understanding and encourage them to ask for help, reinforcing that asking is valued and a sign of strength.
I have the wellbeing and comfort of those I interact with at the top of my priority list and I aim to be a bright presence :)
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I can build my students engagement with and appreciation of the subject (many students find school boring or purposeless and I make a point to spark more joy in learning by integrating key notes of relevance into every lesson).
I will also assure students that it is okay not to understand something, or to feel unconfident. Struggling with learning is perfectly normal and pushing through it builds incredible resilience, a real world tool! :) It is also important to me to make a student feel capable, like they have a mind that is capable of greatness, encouraging them to achieve their full potential.
