What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Being able to make a positive difference in someone's life. Not just helping them with schoolwork, but being able to provide guidance on university and life choices. Seeing people learn new skills, gain confidence and do things they were not able to do before - it feels really good to know that I was responsible for that.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am very patient, and am able to explain concepts in a different way if the student can't really grasp the initial explanation. I will teach them how to approach the problem and come up with the solution themselves. For maths and science subjects, I also point out patterns in the questions that are likely to be repeated in exams.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Instil in a student a love of learning; teach them how to learn and how to manage their own education. It is relatively easy to study enough to get good marks in an exam, but having a positive attitude and active approach towards learning leads to much better information retention and better outcomes in the future, when the student is on their own. Exams are still obviously important, so teaching exam strategies like how to parse questions correctly, how to manage time during an exam, how to avoid stress etc., are all important skills to impart.
