What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy sharing what I find interesting about how the world works and the confidence I have found from learning this. It is encouraging to help and see students grow more confident in their knowledge of a subject, especially watching the moment when they finally understand a concept that they were struggling with.

I have recent and relevant knowledge to many school subjects, with the ability of explaining topics and theories clearly. Also, I am able to relate well to the students’ and their struggles as a recent graduate myself. I can teach my students strategies that I have personally used and found useful.

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to understand them and ensure that they feel heard. When someone misunderstands something you say, it is discouraging and generally you lose the confidence to clarify. It is essential for tutors to understand the root cause of a student’s struggles, whether it is a lack of motivation, support or time. Then the tutor can help to build sustainable strategies that the student can use to mitigate this.
