What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Interacting with students and parents are an enjoyable experience since I can understand more about the students' learning patterns as well as their personalities, allowing our lessons to be shaped according to what suits them best. Personally, I see tutoring as a friendly dynamic and less as a teacher-student dynamic. Tutoring is as much as the student learning as it is the teacher learning because with every student, a teacher gains more experience in improving her methods and traits that help him or her flourish.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am patient and understanding when it comes to academic struggles such as having difficulty understanding or being a 'slow learner' since I have often been through similar situations during the times I needed tutoring in high school. I can see pattern and know how to use additional tools like symbols, mnemonics, visual aids to make tutoring less about acing a student's studies and more about enjoying the subject.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Maintaining a healthy student and parent relationship to understand about their main goals and weaknesses are in their studies. Being motivational, consistent and focused to help the student understand where they made mistakes and breaking down the methods of how to improve and prevent this. Encouraging them by being enthusiastic in teaching them. To reconsolidate at the end of each lesson by providing work and writing an 'entry' of the concepts taught to allow easier revision for the student and for them to reconsolidate what they have learned.
