What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love developing new ways to help my students make sense of mathematics. I use illustrations, games, and storytelling to help students find the intuitive sense in complex mathematics. I also love seeing kids develop confidence as they master and find joy in subject areas that they previously found challenging.

I honor a teaching philosophy that emphasizes critical thinking, communication skills, and learning through guided exploration.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor can help a student come to love the learning process. Students learn best from teachers they find fun, likable, trustworthy, and compassionate. My first goal is always to develop a connection that makes a student feel safe, seen, and confident. By building this relationship, I nurture a student's motivation to engage with my lessons, to learn, and to succeed. Many tutors skip this step; I place it at the forefront of each lesson.
