What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy the most is watching the kid learn a new thing and immediately asking me a million new questions about it. I’m always happy to discuss any subject (especially science) and it’s especially fun when you’re talking to a person who’s just starting to learn these new ideas and already becoming fascinated with them.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I’m a very patient person. I’ve worked with a cousin who was diagnosed with ADHD so I know to keep my cool and work best with a kid even if they’re distracted or uninterested in the subject. I’m a psychology and english literature major, and currently taking a developmental psychology course so I’m learning on how to become even more equipped when dealing with kids/teenagers. Besides, I like to work hard and make sure every child around me is happy, comfortable and in optimal zone of learning.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing is definitely being patient and kind. A lot of people sometimes forget children/teens are not fully functioning adults yet, and they’re learning. Therefore, it’s very important to push them to the best they can do. By being indulgent and firm at the same time, I believe a tutor can get children to be their very best, without ever making them feel bad about themselves.
