Chemistry is just one of those subjects, it either clicks or it doesn't. Many students find maths and physics easy, but when it comes to chemistry they just feel lost.
And it's understandable. It can be challenging to connect the concepts to real-life, see how it all relates to their day-to-day. When they're struggling, students tend to give up easily and at some point, they stop trying altogether.
If your child doesn't catch on right away, or maybe they consider chemistry a complete waste of time, it can be hard to convince them otherwise. What we've found is that students react better when it comes from someone who they can relate to.
They react to mentors, someone closer to their age, who shares the same experience. That's why tutors are in a unique position to help a student grow.
That's why great tutoring can make such a big difference.
Want to find out how? We can allocate a local Tyabb chemistry tutor within a day or two. They reach out to you and set up a first lesson whenever you and your child can make it.
If you like the tutor's approach you keep working with them. If you are not 100% satisfied - we consider it a trial lesson and find a better match. It's that simple!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Currently in tutoring we are working on developing strategies for self-confidence and problem-solving. These are strategies like pen to paper, ok to be wrong and talking aloud. Basically just encouraging Cassie to start working on Maths problems even if she can't see the full picture; and encouraging her to feel more confident at Maths. Also working on note-taking and trying to ensure that what is learnt in tutoring is retained.
She seemed to be interested in most of the topics we worked on this month so great progress overall. She is back to school for a while so she is very attentive and very eager to learn new methods. It is recommended that she use more pen and paper, talking aloud, self questioning more often to assist in her accuracy of her work. Using the white board has been motivating her a number of times, so i encourage her to use it more often but still copy the working out back into the workbooks.
Sienna needs to rely less on me and believe more in her ability to solve a complex mathematical question. Sienna is currently struggling with rounding to the nearest 10 thousand. I have been working to refine that skill over the past couple weeks. I have seen good progress which means she is definitely heading in the right direction.

Sam has been a fantastic tutor for Annalise, she has improved and was very proud of her end of year results at school.
Yes we are very happy with Alexander , Ruby is a hard task master but seems very comfortable with him and happy for him to keep coming back each week.
Connor has improved so much this year, his confidence, organization & overall results have come from a C to a A. I'm not going to do any tutoring through the holidays or for next year as I'm prepared for Connor to put everything into practice and hope that he can maintain his results without the tutoring. I have been happy with Ezymathtutoring and if Connor was to start to struggle again I know where to come.
