Be able to adjust to a student’s learning needs and understand the way the student will learn and respond to what they are being taught I am very empathetic and understanding. I am a good listener, always happy to help people and I listen and try to find different ways for ways something can be understood so it meets multiple learning styles.…

I believe that a tutor can serve as a source of inspiration, not only by exemplifying excellence in their subject area but also by demonstrating key qualities such as determination and resilience throughout their academic journey. Most importantly, a tutor is someone whom students can look up to for guidance and support, capable of effectively…

I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is help them understand concepts that may seem impossible to them because they can then view learning in a completely different viewpoint. This helps them have an open mind towards learning instead of viewing it as something tedious. As such, being understanding and empathetic…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to recognise that every student has different learning styles, strengths and weaknesses. Being patient and working at the student's pace is incredibly important in promoting a positive learning environment. Allowing the student to feel comfortable in asking questions they might not otherwise…

A tutor should maintain a comfortable yet professional relationship with the students, so that they can comfortably express their opinions/questions whenever they have the need to. Also, to be able to share my experiences with the students to help them make the right choices for their future study endeavour. My strength as a tutor would definitely…

Helping them to develop their own learning style, or styles, to perform in a variety of circumstances is one of the most critical things a tutor can impart on a student. Examinations and content will never be delivered in the exact same way, so providing students with the means to navigate the ambiguities of examination and focus purely on the…

Being patient with the student as they work through the question, and helping them with whatever they don't understand about the situation. Patience is key as it is frustrating at times when you don't understand a question and don't have the helping hand of teachers or anyone you can rely on. I have been through these times, and i want to help…

A tutor can be many things for a student. Not only can they be an avenue where they can learn in a different way which may be the student's way of learning, but also they can be a mentor for them in that they can give different insights and views, as well as being someone who listen, and if wanted, suggestions and advice. I can explain concepts…

A tutor should provide guidance and assistance at all costs for the student they are teaching. It is the tutors responsibility to do the best they can in order to help the student reach their potential. A tutor should sometimes take a step further to care for the student and a lot of the times the student will reciprocate your effort to create a…

I think that tutors must have patience and understand that learning may be slower at some times than others and that all students have different needs. Lessons need to be tailored to each individual's skill level Strenghts: passionate, educated, results driven, conscientious Weaknesses: too passionate, too results driven I want to see my students…

EzyMath Tutoring have made it so simple and straightforward in getting help for my daughter who is lacking confidence in maths. I can see a real rapport building with her tutor and she is already feeling so much better about her skills and abilities.

Inside WahroongaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Mia worked through calculating area and perimeter as well as practicing addition and subtraction for accuracy.

In Year 10, Ethan focused on solving trigonometric equations and revising the use of the quadratic formula to find roots of parabolas, using worked examples.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Grace tackled factorisation of algebraic expressions and reviewed linear systems by working through simultaneous equation applications from recent classwork.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often left homework incomplete, particularly on networks, making it difficult to build fluency before exams—"needs to complete homework provided."

In Year 7, messy written work in measurement meant marks were lost when working steps weren't shown.

A senior student (Year 11) avoided attempting harder trigonometry questions, focusing only on familiar problems and losing confidence with new material.

Another Year 12 student relied heavily on the formula sheet during revision rather than memorising key formulas; this slowed progress in timed conditions.

When feedback was given on careless errors in algebra, it was not always acted upon immediately.

Recent Achievements

One Wahroonga tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to avoid seeking clarification now actively asks questions when stuck, especially during trigonometry sessions—this shift has made her much quicker at correcting mistakes.

In Year 12 maths, another student who previously hesitated with worded problems recently showed new independence by forming equations on his own and identifying where he'd gone wrong without prompting.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who struggled with step-by-step problem solving managed to follow each stage for finding x and finished all ten practice questions accurately in their last session.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Turramurra Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Knox Grammar School - Wahroonga Preparatory Campus.
