A tutor can customise personalised learning methods for different students, in order to maximise the efficiency of teaching. I consider that a tutor can impact a student's passion towards knowledge through his/ her personal enthusiasm for teaching. Another important thing a tutor can do for a student is to provide studying strategies before…

It is important to let students know that they are not alone when they encountered any difficulties and tutor is not annoyed. Tutor will always be there when he/she needs help in…

Currently, I am doing Bachelor of Education in Usyd, After 1 year of study, I developed…

Inside Warwick FarmTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Oliver practised converting decimals to fractions and percentages, and tackled basic algebraic problems from schoolwork.

In Year 8, Aryan explored foundational concepts in electricity using worksheets and reviewed electronics basics for science.

Meanwhile, Madison in Year 10 worked on mean, median, and standard deviation calculations in maths before shifting focus to analysing poems and developing writing skills for English assignments.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 mathematics, skipping written steps in complex algebra led to repeated sign errors; as a tutor noted, "writing out all his working helps him slow down and see the correct solution."

In a Year 8 geometry lesson, confusion arose when identifying corresponding angles—insufficient note-taking habits made it hard to recall proofs.

For a primary student, reluctance to complete maths homework meant gaps in basic division persisted week-to-week.

One Year 10 student lost momentum during multi-step problems, with focus drifting after initial confidence faded. This left questions half-finished and core concepts unrevised by the end of each session.

Recent Achievements

A Warwick Farm tutor noticed one high school student who previously hesitated to ask for help now regularly checks his understanding by asking clarifying questions during electronics lessons, showing much more active engagement than before.

Another older student struggled with quadratic equations earlier in the term but has started using a systematic approach to convert worded problems into algebraic equations and can now solve them independently, even remembering to include units in his answers.

In a recent primary session, Maximus, who often mixed up number sequences, was able to recognise the correct order of single-digit numbers on his own without extra prompting.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Liverpool City Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Warwick Farm Public School.
