Through science subjects, in particular, students gain transferable skills that are not only useful for other subjects but real-life problems as well. In reality, it's not just about the content, it's more about the way of thinking. Of course, exams and grades are important, but we've also found that students tend to react positively to tutors who show them these nuances in learning.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Lexi has been improving in her learning strategies and now successfully utilises Talking Aloud and Self Questioning Techniques without being prompted. Nevertheless, Lexi still needs to improve on her Back Checking and Note Taking skills in order to improve on her problem solving techniques. This month, Lexi has also started tackling division problems (both word/problem solving and numeral division questions). Her understanding of division has greatly improved.
Have noticed that there is sometimes lack of enthusiasm however as the session progresses so does Alex's enthusiasm Alex consistently makes effort in tutor sessions Alex completes both his school and tutor homework
I still see problems with her understanding of exponential/index laws. I believe this is a major problem that should be continued to be addressed, because it will lead to bigger problems in algebra when she gets to polynomials of higher degrees, solving for zeros/roots of polynomial/rational equations. Lucy makes an effort not to use a calculator, which is good. I noticed that she is starting to be better with working out multiplication and division in her head (where she was slow before).
Cara is very happy with Ishwarya as her tutor. They have an easy, productive working relationship already after only three weeks, Cara was comfortable with Ishwarya after the first week.
William is excited as he is learning more with Bailey than with his math's teacher. Baileys methods are easy to follow and very helpful. Bailey is always on time and puts in 110%. After every session, you can see the smile on William's face and his new found confidence. We are very impressed and very lucky to have Bailey tutor William.
Wen is fantastic! Jack is very happy with the tutoring so we would like to continue with her.
