It takes a lot to do well in biology. Moving up the curriculum can be a challenge and if students don't jump in with both feet it's easy to fall behind. Catching up while others move on to a completely different area can cause a serious drop in motivation. While most students manage to stay afloat and get the grades they want, it doesn't have to be such an uphill battle.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Gabriel has used these strategies to great effect. You are able to witness it with the work that he completes. When he completes questions, he reads aloud to himself to make sure all sufficient steps are covered and he can backtrack on any errors. He sometimes can fall into lazy thinking at times but usually its just a rare lapse in concentration. Otherwise, everything is very well maintained.

While she is gaining confidence in solving new and complex problems, she does not attempt questions that she feels she will get incorrect. She needs to learn that it is ok to be wrong as it will teach her to learn from her mistakes. She needs to learn to slow down, take her time in solving problems and structure her solutions, as this results in errors. She also needs to learn to back check her work.
Joshua is happy with the tutoring he is receiving from Nicholas and is confident that it will help him with his exams.
But can I just say how lovely she is and in particular Aidan is feeling very comfortable with her to the point he's happy to have her come during the school holidays!! He's normally a little reserved and can sometimes take a while to warm up but they seem to have clicked really well and he doesn't appear intimidated like he can do at times.
All going well so far. We feel confident that it will help with Emily's confidence.
