Learning biology is cumulative. Like learning mathematics or other science subjects - it's important to understand the basics before you can tackle complex concepts.
While most students have the right idea on how to approach studying biology, they also need a little push to achieve their goals. We've found that all it takes is the right kind of guidance at the right time.
The local Avalon Beach biology tutors we work with are there to assist so that passing and excelling at biology doesn't seem like such a hurdle. What we look for is someone who can adjust to your child's needs, who can observe their study habits and guide them through the learning process. So what does that mean exactly?
For instance, most students know they should go over past exams and take notes. What students also sometimes do is fixate on individual questions too much and even try to memorise them. While they know what they should be doing, they might not know how to do it. This is why tutoring is invaluable.
All we need to get things started is to have a chat with you to figure out what your child needs. We organise one-on-one biology tutoring in Avalon Beach, at your home. There are no extra fees, just a simple hourly rate.
And what if you don't like the tutor? No worries, it happens from time to time and we understand that! That's why the first lesson comes as a free trial.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Jack shows excellent use of many learning strategies such as formatting and laying out his work. He makes it easy for himself to follow, while also working through problems in a step by step manner, putting all work on his page.
Mary always puts in significant effort into to her work and her presentations. She has recently seen significant improvement in her spelling which is a direct result of the extra effort she has been putting in to her spelling. I am looking forward to seeing her presentation when we resume as I know she has put a lot of work into it. I have given her a diary to get into the habit of assigning work to days which will help manage the extra work when she starts high school.
Marco does struggle with paying attention in class and keeping concentration, which can be hard when trying to teach- however to manage this we have made his lessons shorter which I can see is already working better
Daniel got his marks back for his final exams in Mathematics. There has been a dramatic improvement in his results. Thank you. He is going to do 4 unit maths in year 12.
Jessica is doing well with Zac. Jessica is very pleasant and easy going and Zac enjoys the lessons with her.
We have only had one lesson with Johnson so far, he seems very good and my daughter seems to like him a lot so all is good.
