Chemistry is just one of those subjects, it either clicks or it doesn't. Many students find maths and physics easy, but when it comes to chemistry they just feel lost.
And it's understandable. It can be challenging to connect the concepts to real-life, see how it all relates to their day-to-day. When they're struggling, students tend to give up easily and at some point, they stop trying altogether.
If your child doesn't catch on right away, or maybe they consider chemistry a complete waste of time, it can be hard to convince them otherwise. What we've found is that students react better when it comes from someone who they can relate to.
They react to mentors, someone closer to their age, who shares the same experience. That's why tutors are in a unique position to help a student grow.
That's why great tutoring can make such a big difference.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Shaun has greatly improved in his back-checking skills. He always remembers to check over his work before the questions and practice tests are to be marked. Shaun continues to do some problem solving in his head, which is okay for simple problems, but I recommend he puts more pen to paper in order to prepare for harder future questions.
Luiz's attitude towards his schooling is excellent in all areas. Luiz continues to put in high amounts of effort. While his work habits are excellent I worry that he seems to devote all his time to the fastest approaching assessment or test. This could be problematic as he should be devoting a solid amount of time to studying for his upcoming exams.
Each lesson we find gaps in his knowledge however we address them as they come along and continue to work on them to improve his confidence To help improve his marks, Ray needs remember to go over his class work in his own time and make sure he fully understands it before moving on. This will then make it easier to understand the harder parts of each topic.
Timothy is very happy with how things are going with Jerome. Tim feels like he is learning and is comfortable with Jerome who I have found to be a very polite young man. Tim has not had any tests or exams since he began tutoring, I'm sure we will see an improvement at that time.
Hi Erica, everything good so far. Isaac is lovely and Adam appears to be relating well to him. He has had 2 recent Math tests and has seemed more relaxed about them so I think we're seeing some short term gains already.
Hi Erica, Yes all seems to be going well with Sean's tutoring. He responds well to Andy. Thanks
