What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the moment when a concept finally clicks for a student. It is particularly rewarding when a student who was initially struggling becomes confident enough to complete questions independently and begins to recognise their own ability. I also enjoy building relationships with my students and watching their progress over time, not only through improved results but through greater confidence and willingness to challenge themselves.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor are patience, clear communication, and my ability to break challenging concepts into manageable steps. I am comfortable explaining the same concept in different ways until I find an approach that works for the individual student. I am also very thorough and prefer to work through questions alongside students before encouraging them to attempt similar problems independently. I adapt my teaching to different abilities and confidence levels, while creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things a tutor can provide are understanding, confidence, and independence. A tutor should identify gaps in a student's knowledge, explain concepts clearly, and create an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions without judgement. While improving academic results is important, I also believe tutoring should teach students how to approach unfamiliar problems and learn from their mistakes. Ultimately, the goal is to help students develop the confidence and skills to work independently rather than always relying on someone else for the answer.
