Sometimes a student just needs some help. Especially with maths! Maybe silly mistakes are the culprit, maybe there are gaps in knowledge, or maybe the student knows all their stuff but for some reason doesn't do well in exam conditions. Other students rely too much on memorizing rules and formulas instead of seeking understanding. Others struggle to find the confidence to make effort. There are really a variety of issues that cause sub-optimal grades. It can cause anxiety and unhappiness, but worst of all this can...

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
James and I have been working on the rudiments of Geometrical proofs and he has been doing well at following advice and trying to emulate examples that we work through together, especially for such a difficult topic. He has been getting much better at structuring his responses when they require longer, worded responses. James does well at trying to talk through his responses but lack of familiarity with mathematical terms does prevent him from expressing himself accurately.
I am still very happy with Coopers attitude, effort and work habits. Cooper still completes all the homework I set for him and the questions he cannot do he tells me before the lesson starts and we go through them together.
If Silai could be more familiar with the multiplication table, she will do better in other arithmetic questions. Moreover, fractions and decimals are two topics which most students find difficult, but where secondary school maths are built on. I would like to suggest Silai put some effort in these two topics so that she will be better prepared for her further learning.
Phal has been amazing with our kids and she has improved their standard immeasurably. They have delighted in her passionate teaching style and have come away with much knowledge and strategies in approaching their maths.
Eric has been tutoring both my children for math over the past year. He has demonstrated exemplary patience and persistence in engaging with both children, and has successfully improved their mathematic skills. Eric is always calm and organised, he consistently plans ahead for lessons and adjusts what to teach according to need. He is punctual and reliable, and flexible enough to work around his own schedule and the busy schedule of families. He considers my feedback on how the children are going, and has found his own ways to help them maintain focus for the entire session. I have enjoyed having Eric as a tutor in our home and have recommended him to other families.
The ezymaths company was professional to deal with, our tutor was punctual and very knowledgeable and generally a very nice person. Our tutor identified by the second lesson the areas my daughter needed to focus on and from this time she has been addressing these areas. My daughter enjoys her tutoring sessions now.
