Improvement not only in their grades, but their mentality as well. Tutors are able to assist students in many ways, ways that may even be life changing. A little extra push can go a long way for some students and I'd like to be there to give them that push in life for their success. The patience I'm able to have with students. Being patient with…

I consider the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to build a rapport with them so that the student feels comfortable asking questions when they do not understand topics or content, which allows the tutor to address this issue. I find that my strengths as a tutor are being able to work with the student to ascertain the specific…

Listen. Good listening skill is a must. Because it may be the only chance that the student is willing to share with an adult what is really going on. I find sometimes comprehending the texts or the assignments are not student's weakest areas. It may be a case when the student has questions such as "how do I write a report?" or "what is a PEEL…

The most important things a tutor can do for s student is make sure he/she has outstanding communication skills to be able to communicate whether the student is on the right track with the problem, not on the right track or has solved the problem. A tutor must not only teach the student the concepts that they are learning at the present time but also guide them in being able to learn efficiently for their work in the future. It is important to develop good habits early on so that a student may progress further in their learning. I believe that I am able to relate to students very well in…

The most important thing a tutor can do is to be able to help the student enjoy the subject and to help them to improve their grades. Also, in a subject like mathematics, a tutor must be able to help students to solve tricky and challenging questions. I will be able to do this since I try to teach students the different techniques needed to solve…

The most important thing a tutor can do is to help students understand the subject they are assisting with. Not being able to understand something causes frustration and makes it difficult to remember and apply later. Once a foundation of understanding is established, only then can the tutor go on to teach new information. I have a good…

Being able to explain concepts well to a student is arguably the most important thing. The best tutors are those who can explain and teach challenging ideas with relative ease in a short period of time because they have such good interpersonal skills. I believe my greatest strength is personal interaction with the student, and the ability to…

- Be transparent about how to succeed
- Wholeheartedly believe in the student and - Invest in them both emotionally and academically I think my strengths as a tutor are that I am able to immediately connect with the student and I make an effort to understand their…

I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is provide them with the confidence to perform well in their studies and in their classroom. To provide both knowledge and methods of learning that students will be able to utilise. Many students can feel embarrassed if they are lacking in a subject, however with the help of a…

One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to explain concepts they are confused with in a way that is suited to their individual learning style. This can be achieved by spending some initial time to learn about the students subject weaknesses and strengths to understand how they learn and tailoring the teaching style to suit…

Figure out where the students are at, and help them move themselves one step at a time towards their goal.
This is done by asking lots of questions and having discussions about the mathematics. I think I'm great at engaging my students.
I also think I'm good at making it safe to ask the questions they thought were too stupid or obvious to…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make sure a student can fully understand topics that have previously been difficult. I do not think it is not enough for a tutor to simply talk through the topic with the student and expect them to understand it. A tutor should explain the topic to the student and then, after more study…

I feel above all, it is important for a tutor to invest in the success of the student. to make sure that the student not only walks away with an understanding of the concepts being taught, but to make sure the student is empowered with the ability to be able to carry out that skill both in class and in an exam type situation. I think my hard work…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to boost their self-confidence. Learning, like everything else, is dependent on one's perception of one's abilities. Students who are confident in their abilities are more likely to be motivated than students who think they will never succeed. I think my strength as a tutor would be…
