Learning Chemistry feels like learning a new language. It's hard in the beginning, you don't know what to look out for and even though you recognise things here and there that doesn't mean you can read a formula, let alone understand it. It's one of those subjects where it clicks or it just doesn't. Tutors we work with understand that. They've been there, they had to overcome the same hurdle and they are passionate about helping...
They've been there, they had to overcome the same hurdle and they are passionate about helping others do the same. They know the pitfalls, where to spend that extra hour and what you need to memorise before you can completely understand a concept.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Obviously, we've just started, however, it does seem that Noah already has a pretty good grasp on the basics. One thing that I would like to work on is that he is quite shy and not very talkative, it can be challenging to know what he is thinking, and what he might be having trouble with.
Em is as usual organised and dedicated to her studies. She's had a few rough days lately where her energy is low but we've been able to get through the work by taking breaks (and decorating her tutoring book with encouragement stickers - a bit lame but effective).
As before, methods is slow going for now but specialist is really testing Noah's understanding of more abstract concepts, there is much more focus on theory, proofs and the like, as opposed to methods which is much more focused on practical questions, I do want to keep an eye on his progress but without affecting methods.
Yes we are happy with the way things have started. Ahmad-Firdauz has been very helpful and we believe has already helped Jayden improve is focus. Jayden has a math test today which we are hopeful show improved results even if by just a slight margin.
Jeevan is happy with Posearn's approach and seems to have settled well with the arrangement. He has been on time every lesson and seems to be a dedicated tutor. We are looking forward to seeing progress in Jeevan's Maths grades but for now we are pleased that he has someone he can turn to for help when he encounters problems with homework.
Kyle engaged with Josephine very quickly. He has a delightfully engaging and affirming nature. She opened up immediately and felt more confident to tackle maths problems in the session. Very pleased to have him on board.
