And it's understandable. It can be challenging to connect the concepts to real-life, see how it all relates to their day-to-day. When they're struggling, students tend to give up easily and at some point, they stop trying altogether.
If your child doesn't catch on right away, or maybe they consider chemistry a complete waste of time, it can be hard to convince them otherwise. What we've found is that students react better when it comes from someone who they can relate to.
They react to mentors, someone closer to their age, who shares the same experience. That's why tutors are in a unique position to help a student grow.
That's why great tutoring can make such a big difference.
Want to find out how? We can allocate a local Brownsville chemistry tutor within a day or two. They reach out to you and set up a first lesson whenever you and your child can make it.
If you like the tutor's approach you keep working with them. If you are not 100% satisfied - we consider it a trial lesson and find a better match. It's that simple!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Chloe writes down her working out which is a really good habit. However, she needs to put in extra time to check her work by repeating the process in writing or mentally. This will increase her accuracy and in addition, help boost her confidence.
Very enthusiastic and keen to learn, but does need to pay more attention, especially when he says he understands something but is still very confused about a topic. General time management skills during the week also need improvement.
Josh has improved massively on the calculations he can do but the theory behind it still confuses him. It is hard for him to understand why we make the calculations that we do and to visualise the problem and solution. This becomes particularly obvious in graphs where he struggles to understand how to graph because he cannot understand why we use the process we do. I recommend more practice and perhaps even finding more help online such as Khan Academy if it is a persistent problem
Thanks for organising Matt for tutoring. Tom had a great first session with him and said he 'got heaps' out of the experience.
Maryanne was fantastic, the confidence I saw in my daughter this morning was amazing and that was only with one session. Thank you for sending Maryanne our way.
Matt was great with Gemma on Monday evening. We have booked Matt again for next Monday. Thankyou for all of your help.
