Chemistry can be confusing. Even if students pick it up in the beginning, the sheer amount of content and scope of principles can be overwhelming. It's no wonder most students need an extra push from time to time.
The best thing teachers can do if their students are struggling is approach their learning in a personalized way, really getting to know their habits and specific challenges they face. There's nothing like having that one person who knows your study habits inside out, especially when it comes to science. Unfortunately, in classrooms, that's not always possible.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Maia makes very well use of the learning strategies during her learning. Not only does she make neat and clear notes for herself, but she also doesn't hesitate to ask for clarification when a concept is unclear to her. She understands that it is okay to be wrong so she attentively listens to explanations and strategies relevant to solving that problem. She is not a lazy thinker and makes an active effort to solve problems carefully.
Very good attitude during the classes, was staying focused through the entire class and was working very well! When Tej knew how to solve an exercise, she puts a lot of effort in it to succeed. The only part where there is a small lack of effort is when she doesn't know where to start and she gives up a little bit too quickly. Tej is clearly a very hard working student and also seems eager to learn! She was a very enjoyable student to have.
Carl does very well but it could help him if he could write more neat and organized (variables' names, same line) and self check his solution process more often. Those can significantly help with dealing with questions. More self-checking is needed concerning the solution process and writing neat with names of variables and which calculation belongs to which equation.
Matthew is “very happy with Kirstenâ€. That is the best feedback a child can give. Kirsten has a big challenge to get Matthew up to speed. Kirsten is setting him homework and has increased the time that she is spending with Matthew as he needs to put in extra study with exams pending. We can't ask for more than that from a tutor than to be flexible and mindful of Matthews schedule and timelines. Overall Matthews school results are improving across all learning areas.
I am more than happy with Julie, she is just brilliant in every way. In terms of preparation and input I could not ask for more. Just great, and highly recommend Julie as a great advocate for your brand.
Mina helped me to improve considerably so that I felt confident and capable going into my final year 12 exams.
