Business Studies Tutor Horningsea Park, NSW
I think the most important part of for a student to achieve their full potential whilst feeling confident with what they are learning. Learning shouldn’t be a tedious task and the more you understand the content, the more you enjoy it. I want students to learn as well as be able to apply what they’re learning. I believe I can help them feel…

The two most significant things a tutor can do for a student are to establish a solid, encouraging rapport and modify their method of instruction to suit the student's particular requirements. It is essential to establish a secure space where children may voice their concerns and ask questions. Additionally, assisting students in acquiring…

I believe that I should not be teaching facts and topics as an end and assume that students will understand the deeper concepts and principles. Deeper understanding of content- If students do not understand the deeper concepts and principles behind the facts, the students’ knowledge will be superficial and will not be able to transfer their…

A tutor can make a huge difference in a student’s learning experience by trying to help students to build a better understanding and not just memorizing the concepts. My strengths are: - Taking difficult concepts, making them simple and relatable to each person. - Each person has their own way to learn, so I adjust my teaching methods to fit…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is teach them the formulaic way of how to study. There is a set procedure that is unique to every individual and subject of how to fully understand and apply various concepts. Once one is able to find that procedure and develop it, they are able to learn much more in their given subject. In…

I guarantee to provide an informative and enjoyable lesson for each session in order for the student to take along something new they have learned in class. I achieve and allow my students to aim in getting higher grades once starting tutoring. I believe by tackling the difficulties and uncertainties of the student (eg. their weaknesses in a…

To me the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to build confidence in them. A tutor can help a student in developing confidence, bringing their inner strength out, overcoming their secret fear, injecting good morals for future life. As a tutor I am always dedicated, understanding, reliable and open to students. I like to involve…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is probably stay for a bit longer with the student to help with any questions that the student may ask. Taking some of time to also explain to the student even after the session has been completed. Another important thing is to build a friendly environment for the student, and become…

As a tutor, our main obligation is to implement methods of teaching that allows students to understanding the materials in a way that isnt too complex, but at the sametime, yields the required results when the time comes around. Key to the student's success is built on having someone that they can turn to if they require advice or support, not…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is really listen to what they have to say and be patient. Some students may have the right idea in essence but not the right answer. It from building their idea to make them realise how close they are to having the right answer to the question. Shutting down a student and giving them…

I believe tutors need to understand their students, given that not all individuals hold the same skills or pace of learning and as such, need to be taken into consideration or have the lesson plans catered to their needs. Tutors must, nonetheless, put in large amounts of effort to ensure the student receives and understands theory that is taught,…

Enriching a students' knowledge of a topic and allowing that increased knowledge to shine through their academic prowess within their schooling efforts. My strength would be pinpointing what the student doesn't understand and using analogies or using patterns from concepts they already understand to portray the…

I truly believe this will be actively listening and giving plenty of feedback. A good tutor will always make sure that the student really understands the concept and knows how to effectively teach the student in a way that works for them. Different students have different ways of learning and it’s the tutors responsibility to make sure that they…

Local Reviews

Donald is a very patient tutor and he takes the time to work through problems with his student. Donald ensures that the parent is also aware of how the student is progressing and cares about achieving results and monitors any areas of where improvements are needed. My year 11 son has seen an improvement in his results since tutoring began this year. I would be pleased to recommend Donald.

Inside Cecil ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Jonathon focused on simplifying ratios and dividing numbers into given ratios, then practised solving real-world problems using rates.

Year 10 student Sarah worked through quadratic equations by factorising and graphing parabolas to find intercepts and turning points, also exploring how transformations affect the shape of the graphs.

Meanwhile, a Year 11 student tackled advanced logarithm laws and solved challenging logarithmic equations step-by-step for deeper understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student hesitated to share answers during probability tasks, with a tutor noting, "he is quite shy and mostly replying with one-word answers," making it difficult for him to clarify confusion about tree diagrams.

In Year 10 English, incomplete PETAL structure and weak links to the question slowed short-answer progress; responses took longer as sentences were reworked repeatedly.

For a senior maths student, overthinking trigonometry questions meant more time was spent doubting steps than actually writing—this sometimes led to panic in timed settings. When this happened, correct strategies stayed unused while the clock kept ticking.

Recent Achievements

One Cecil Park tutor noticed a Year 10 student who previously hesitated to ask for help now openly seeks clarification during maths sessions, which has led him to complete short answer questions more independently and with fewer mistakes.

A high school student working on assessment preparation started finding multiple methods herself to solve complex problems by herself after initially relying heavily on guidance—showing real initiative and flexible thinking.

Meanwhile, a primary-aged learner who once guessed at answers now explains his reasoning out loud before solving each question.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Green Valley Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Irfan College.
