What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I genuinely enjoy seeing a student improve, especially when they came into the session pretty stressed or convinced they were going to fail. There's something really satisfying when they do well on an exam they were dreading and you know the sessions actually helped. I'm an accounting student myself, studying maths, IT, business and law, so I'm still pretty relatable to what it feels like to be overwhelmed by a subject. I think that makes it easier to relate to students rather than just showing up and running through content without really understanding the mentality of them all.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I'd say my main strength is that I adapt to whoever I'm working with rather than running the same session every time. Some students are pretty relaxed and do better when the session has a more casual energy while others want to get straight into the work with no distraction. I can pick up on that pretty quickly. When someone is genuinely stuck, I slow right down and break the problem into smaller and smaller pieces until we find exactly where the confusion is, and then start teaching from there. It's a proven method in my case that's never failed me.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The first thing is actually diagnosing where the student is struggling rather than just working through whatever homework is in front of you. A lot of the time there's one concept they never fully grasped and it's been quietly causing problems ever since. The second thing is making students feel comfortable enough to say they don't understand something. A lot of students will just nod along because they don't want to seem like they're not getting it, and I always make sure to read expressions, understand how comfortable a student is to express their needs, and "push, pull" accordingly.

I am a dedicated tutor and mentor with experience in professional tutoring, volunteer tutoring, peer tutoring, and student mentoring. Having worked with students across various age groups and learning levels, I understand that every student learns differently and requires a personalised approach. My experience with international Olympiad programs has further strengthened my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and work with students from diverse backgrounds. I focus on building strong foundations, critical thinking skills, and academic confidence while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. My goal is not only to help students improve their results but also to develop the confidence and independent learning skills that will benefit them long after our tutoring sessions.

Combining Academic Excellence with an Engaging Teaching Style

I am an enthusiastic and approachable tutor who enjoys helping students build confidence in their learning. I believe the best results come when students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their understanding at their own pace. My lessons are supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student's individual learning style, whether they need help strengthening foundations, tackling challenging concepts, or preparing for assessments. I aim to make learning less intimidating and more enjoyable by creating a positive environment where students feel motivated to participate, think critically, and reach their full potential.

Continuous improvement

I believe learning is a lifelong process, and I strive to bring that mindset into every lesson. I am always looking for new ways to explain concepts, improve student engagement, and adapt my teaching to different learning styles. By continuously refining my approach, I aim to provide lessons that are both effective and enjoyable, helping students develop not only stronger academic skills but also a lasting confidence in their ability to learn.
