Learning Chemistry feels like learning a new language. It's hard in the beginning, you don't know what to look out for and even though you recognise things here and there that doesn't mean you can read a formula, let alone understand it. It's one of those subjects where it clicks or it just doesn't. Tutors we work with understand that. They've been there, they had to overcome the same hurdle and they are passionate about helping...
They've been there, they had to overcome the same hurdle and they are passionate about helping others do the same. They know the pitfalls, where to spend that extra hour and what you need to memorise before you can completely understand a concept.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
During September, Kyra and I continued to work on her fractions, adding, subtracting, mixed, or improper fractions and converting. She is improving on her timetables and her understanding on how numbers are connected and linked is increasing. We are finding more creative ways to increase her interest in maths and making use of fun worksheets.
Effort has been adequate but in order to do well in the final exam Amilia must get herself to the point where she can attempt past exam papers under exam conditions at home. Then afterwards we can focus on her weaker areas during the class.
Interest rates seem to confuse her still. Her analysis of this kind of problems might be aided by using labels and units. Also needs to work on conversion without memorizing lengthy conversion steps. She's trying to use dimensional analysis now sometimes, which will prove to be really helpful especially in HSC.
Ranul has been fantastic. Ava seems to have really taken a liking to him which helps!
Matthew has become much happier to talk & often inform us about math problems & the confidence he has gained even at this early stage of being tutored is huge. Andrew has been a tremendous help so far.
We are very happy with Theodora and since the school year is coming to an end, we look forward to seeing her again in 2018.
