Reliable in the way that the student can have the confidence in his/her tutor to help them achieve what they desire. I am very approachable and easy to talk to. Being able to teach the student not only about academics, but also preparing them for what is to come. I know from recent personal observatory experience how difficult starting Highschool is, and how large of a jump that is. I can also relate to the jump from year 10 to VCE, it is difficult and extremely stressful! The most important thing a tutor…

The most important thing a tutor can do is approach teaching in a holistic way so a student can develop necessary skills - like interpersonal skills, to strive not only during high school, but once they graduate. A tutor should be helping their student to excel in their studies in a way that is supplementary to what is taught in school. Lastly, a…

Each student is different and tutoring differs from normal school classes when we see each child different and help them strengthen their weak point by following a teaching which is suitable for them. Being someone different from a crowd and having tutored different students I realize this and is ready to help my students according to their need.…

Tutor should build strong, personal relationships with their students so that he can truly personalize the learning, teach to student's strengths and minimize the student's weaknesses. furthermore, tutor should have specific content expertise. One of the most strengths ,which I believe, as a tutor is flexibility. I adapt myself to every case.…

IN MY VIEW, JUST AS IT IS NECESSARY FOR THE DOCTOR FIRST TO DIAGNOSE THE PATIENT'S ILLNESS, SO IT IS EQUALLY NECESSARY FOR THE TEACHER TO DIAGNOSE THE STUDENT'S WEAKNESS AND DIFFICULTIES, FIRST! SO HAVING CONDUCTED A NEEDS ANALYSIS, THEN THE TUTOR SHOULD OPT FOR THE MOST APPROPRIATE APPROACH TO REMOVE THE STUDENT'S WEAKNESSES AND PROBLEMATIC…

I view the role of a tutor as more of a assistant to the teacher. I main goal for the a tutor is to go in-depth on discussed in the classroom allowing the students to wrap their head around concepts that were once perceived as difficult and challenging. It is the tutors role to teaching correct habits and strategies to tackle difficult or…

The student will get little from the sessions if they don’t find what is being taught to them as fun or exciting. Thats why as a tutor, you need to make them look forward to seeing you next, and ensure you always have a positive attitude towards their learning journey. Able to level with the students as a young adult, and can safely say I have…

A trait I consider to be very important as a tutor is being a good leader. They should also be assertive, trustworthy and mindful, which helps them offer guidance to other students. Lastly, they should keep an open…

Building their confidence and making it genuinely okay to be wrong. So many kids are terrified of giving the wrong answer, and that fear holds them back way more than the actual material does. If I can be a space where they feel safe enough to make mistakes and try again without embarrassment, that's going to do a lot more for them in the long run…

Most people didn't enjoy physics and math in high school. Most of the time this has to do with the way teachers explain these subjects. I should be able to make learning fun for the student and make the student feel more confident while dealing with the subject. The student might slowly develop liking for the subject if they find it easy and interesting. The most important task that should be done is that the concept is clear for the student such that they don't ever feel the…

Ezy Math Tutoring have been extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Very professional with their communication and efforts to find the right tutors to fit my son's needs. Inside ChadstoneTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 Mason practiced reading comprehension by answering questions about short stories and tackled subtraction problems from his maths workbook, also focusing on letter formation in handwriting.

In Year 11, Ash reviewed dramatic techniques in Greek tragedy—exploring catharsis and the tragic hero—and studied leadership styles and organisational structures for business management using real-world examples.

Another session with Ash (Year 12) focused on applying business management concepts to exam-style case study scenarios, discussing how different organisational approaches impact outcomes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student preparing for Business Management SACs struggled with time management, leaving some exam questions unfinished and rushing essay structure—"needed more precise argument progression," one note read.

In Psychology, another senior hesitated to put definitions in their own words, making revision less effective.

A Year 9 student's homework was repeatedly incomplete; when asked about it, they admitted motivation had dropped after missing earlier deadlines.

In Years 3–4 maths, several students avoided writing working for addition and subtraction problems ("did the maths in his head and couldn't explain reasoning"), leading to confusion and slow progress when faced with new question types.

Recent Achievements

Ash has started setting her own goals and now organises all her work ahead of time—something she hadn't done before—so she's fully prepared for assessments in business management.

In Year 11 English, another student who used to struggle with structuring essays was able to funnel her ideas into three clear topic sentences during an essay planning session.

Meanwhile, Mason managed to read two chapters aloud of an illustrated novel with minimal help after previously needing frequent prompting on each page.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Phoenix Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Salesian College Chadstone.
