What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Honestly, the best part is that exact moment when a kid who's been struggling with something finally gets it. I spent a whole year with my 3rd and 5th graders, and watching them go from doubting themselves to actually enjoying the material always felt great.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Flexibility, for sure. Having tutored both in-person and over Zoom, I've gotten pretty good at reading the room and switching things up when a kid starts to zone out or get frustrated. I'm also good at taking topics that feel big and scary and breaking them down into smaller, more manageable pieces so younger kids don't feel overwhelmed before we even get started.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Building their confidence and making it genuinely okay to be wrong. So many kids are terrified of giving the wrong answer, and that fear holds them back way more than the actual material does. If I can be a space where they feel safe enough to make mistakes and try again without embarrassment, that's going to do a lot more for them in the long run than just getting through their homework.
