Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
talking loud, self-questioning, note taking, practice different combinations of numbers, mock assignments, surprise calculations to build strong concepts and ability to apply in complex numbers and calculations, more of graphical work, allowing time to think and recheck work before submitting
I have definitely seen a change in Steph since we introduced the sticker chart. She remains more focused in lessons and completes her homework more consistently. One area which we will focus is improving self-motivation/discipline as based on your feedback she relies on others telling her to complete the work rather than making the decision for herself. This will be a crucial part of the reward structure next semester and hopefully built as a result.
The biggest problem that Mia is facing is simultaneously maintaining speed and accuracy when solving questions. There is only one way to improve both of these; practice, and more practice. Another thing is to remain calm under pressure, and this comes with confidence, which we have been working on.
William is excited as he is learning more with Bailey than with his math's teacher. Baileys methods are easy to follow and very helpful. Bailey is always on time and puts in 110%. After every session, you can see the smile on William's face and his new found confidence. We are very impressed and very lucky to have Bailey tutor William.
Wen is fantastic! Jack is very happy with the tutoring so we would like to continue with her.
Dhreeti tutor has been great so far and my daughter is really comfortable with her.
