The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
We have been over the different learning strategies during our tutoring sessions. Most of them come quite natural. The one that still needs work is back checking as Gabrielle still tends to make errors in her homework that she does not make when we do exercises together. Gabrielle is very good at pen to paper. Her notes are very neat and complete. Her confidence is slowly building, and will keep growing as she keeps practicing.
She has a good attitude towards her work and is happy to learn. Works for the whole hour (even though it can sometimes be a drain) and works to the best of her ability. Always knows whats happening in class and what she is up to. She is on top of her work and knows where she has issues, which make it easy to address them.
Charlie has shown improvement with understanding harder multiplication problems. He is finding harder division problems challenging I would like to see Charlie further work on harder division problems

Both Amber and myself are very happy with the first two lessons Kamen has given. He has a great way of making Amber at ease with the learning process and we look forward to seeing her maths improve.
Ben continues to have great rapport with Kai and I think he even looks forward to the lessons which I can tell give him much more confidence.
Sarah is finding the tutoring with Shabana very helpful. Sarah has has three tutoring sessions and Shabana has been explaining concepts or questions which Sarah found confusing. I really like the way Shabana interacts with Sarah and how she keeps reminding her about the importance of practising.
