Year 11 and 12 Chemistry can be intimidating. Students need to learn heaps of content, be able to recognize reactions and analyse chemical systems. The number of concepts students need to master is overwhelming, and the workload only adds up as they move up the curriculum. If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.

If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.
Tutors we work with know that. They've been there. Being approached by a mentor rather than a teacher makes it easier for students to develop an appreciation for chemistry. That's what it comes down to - someone making sure your child doesn't give up.
For some students it's just passing a test, for others it's getting through SACE with flying colours, maybe even preparing for a career in STEM. Whatever the goal, we are there to support your child through it all.
So what's the next step?

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Shaun is a very capable student when it comes to getting work done and is able to complete assigned work within a short period of time. I encourage him to learn from the little mistakes he does make and ask me more questions when he is struggling as he has shown to do. He has also been able to complete all to most of the work set over the week, which has definitely helped him stay on top of each lesson.
Piper generally has a good work ethic, although she is not always consistent in completing the homework that I assign to her. It is important for Piper to complete the homework, as continuing to practice the techniques she has learned in our session will mean she can remember how to do them when she next approaches a problem. This was most obvious when Piper was unable to remember how to complete a problem at the start of our 4th session which she was completely competent in by the end of our 3rd week.
Given the nature of the Maths Year 11 course, Victoria has been generally familiar with most of the content and has, therefore, shown no excessive problem areas. Her work in English has also been completed at a very good standard and the long-term learning curve will be a matter of moving towards the essay format as the year goes on, as opposed to the creative writing assessments from Term 1.

Hi Erica, Thanks for your email - we are very happy with Keith. Both Caleb and Elijah have settled well with him.
Everything is going well so far. The tutoring has been working well. Jamie seems to connect with Kevin. We are away next week but hopefully I can keep the momentum up with Jamie!
I have been extremely pleased with our ezymath tutor, Lawrence. Apparently "he knows everything about maths". He has worked diligently and patiently with my daughter and has managed to keep her focused throughout each lesson. I also found the reports he provided about her progress detailed and considered and very helpful in providing feedback about her strengths, gaps and progress. I found ezymath tutoring very professional and easy to deal with. There were no contracts, which makes it very flexible, the price was reasonable and the tutor came to our house. They provided a tutor who was current with the HSC curriculum and very knowledgeable about his subject. The feedback reports that were provided at the end of each term were very detailed about all areas of the learning - both the positive and the areas she needed to work on. I would definitely recommend ezymath tutoring to other parents - it has been a very positive experience....
