Chemistry Tutor Melton West, VIC
As I recently graduated I can understand the pressure that is being faced every day so I would make sure that the student studies a topic with a cool mind rather than studying in a panic mood. I would like them to study everything in a smart way rather studying everything in a hard way. I also believe while studying the student should know what is…

I consider the most important thing as a chemistry tutor is to teach your students to ask more questions, more often and trying to answer those questions themselves as if they are the teacher because by doing this they actually get used to thinking about various problems in a better way and come up with well thought questions and a better…

Building confidence in a student is the most important thing for a chemistry tutor. In another way, a student can realise his or her capacity to solve a problem and be confident in it despite failing several times. Working with kids helps me to understand and communicate effectively throughout a lesson, which are key elements in tutoring.…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is: -prepare and plan ahead in order to be a useful resource to the student. -try to the student's abilities, strengths and limitations in order to refine their strengths as well as address and facilitate for their limitations to encourage academic growth. -aim for students to understand…

Local Reviews

Customer service has been prompt, friendly and informative from the start. Ezy math made contact with me immediately without being pushy. We are also very happy with the tutor they have selected for us who has been punctual, clear and above all very patient. Very happy and can see a positive improvement in my child. Highly recommend.

Inside Hopetoun ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 2 student Aaylah focused on reading comprehension with fiction picture books and practiced skip counting, as well as working through clock/time and single- and double-digit addition using column methods.

Year 7 student Ray reviewed all times tables for fluency and tackled order of operations (BODMAS) in numerical expressions.

For Year 10, Ben covered expanding binomial equations such as (a+b)^2 and (a-b)^2, memorising their expanded forms, then explored the difference of two squares by expanding expressions like (a+b)(a-b).

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 Algebra, one student relied on mental calculations and avoided writing steps—"he needs to learn how to write out step by step how he is able to arrive to the answer"—which led to missed sign errors and confusion during more complex problems.

In VCE Biology, another hesitated when answering follow-up questions and struggled with recalling key terms like "activation energy" without hints, impacting her ability to connect ideas between lessons.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 maths student left several homework tasks incomplete, making it difficult for her to recall rules in new sessions and undermining her progress on revision quizzes.

Recent Achievements

One Hopetoun Park tutor noticed a real shift with a Year 10 student, Jordan, who had fallen behind in maths due to COVID disruptions—he's now catching up quickly and is much more engaged during sessions.

In senior science, Ariel started off hesitant to ask questions but now actively seeks clarification and even explains concepts like cellular respiration back in his own words.

Meanwhile, a younger student, Aaylah, no longer skips words when reading aloud; after some whiteboard practice, she managed double-digit addition almost independently by the end of her lesson.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Lederderg Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like OneSchool Global Vic.
