The most important thing I can do for students in to have effective communication skills. If you can not tailor your communication in order for your student to grasp what you are trying to teach them then you can not become a well rounded tutor. I firmly believe that there is no such thing as bad students, just bad tutors/teachers. I am an active…

Being willing to help, but also acknowledge the rare instances where a tutor may be unable to help to a confident level. I believe it is better to acknowledge if you do not know something rather than pretend you do and risk teaching something that is incorrect. When this problem is encountered, however, it is up to the tutor to rectify this by…

A tutor must be considerate about a child's limitations and strengths and these qualities are vastly different between every individual child. One child may understand math while another child may be more humanities oriented. Understanding this, a teacher can understand a child's boundaries and understand how to microdose information in a manner…

The most important thing I can do is help students believe in themselves while giving them the skills to succeed independently. Rather than simply helping them complete homework, I want them to understand concepts deeply, develop effective study habits, and learn how to approach problems with confidence. I also strive to create a positive,…

Teaching students on how to be effective with your studying time is the most important aspect in a students years of learning. Showing them questions and teaching them in both a general and in depth manner which allow them to focus on the right questions that intend to repeat on many exams. My strengths include efficiency in teaching, such as not…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is understand their strengths and weaknesses, and play off of that. Thus, it's increasing significant to be able to rephrase or switch up the way a topic is being taught in order to simply the content to best suit each individual, and over time, build the problem solving skills they need to…

Your love for the students and your own passion. Teaching a subject you are passionate about will always be engaging for students. A tutor must be able to adapt to the way the student learns in order to be able to effectively teach them. A tutor must be able to explain concepts clearly and further break down points when needed for the student. I am patient who will assist the student every step of the way and I can explain tasks and ideas clearly so that the student can…

Local Reviews

First contact, reply was within an hour. A tutor was assigned and progress was made immediately. We started with Math for Year 11 and progressed to English for Year 12, both subjects have given great results so far. Definitely recommend EzyMath Tutoring to future students in need of confidence.

Inside LavertonTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 10 student Harry practised solving and graphing linear inequalities, as well as simplifying algebraic expressions with a focus on factorising.

For Year 11, Maya worked through differentiation techniques in calculus and tackled applications of derivatives using exam-style questions.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Chloe focused on probability distributions, including binomial distribution problems and interpreting statistical results from practice assessments.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student struggled with forgetting key algebraic rules during classwork, leading to hesitancy and missed steps when solving equations.

In Year 11 Maths Methods, "timing during questions" was flagged as a concern—spending too long on familiar problems left little time for challenging sections, especially in differentiation tasks.

Another senior student relied heavily on their CAS calculator for fraction manipulation but then felt lost without it in non-calculator exams.

When exact values in trigonometry came up, skipped revision of formulas meant blank spots mid-test, leaving answers unfinished as the clock ran down.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Laverton recently noticed a big shift with a Year 12 student who used to freeze on worded maths problems—now, after working through strategies together, she's able to break down and solve these questions without prompting.

In Year 10, one student who had trouble applying the product and chain rules in calculus started picking them up much faster, showing more independence during practice sessions instead of waiting for hints.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who often forgot content from week to week surprised his tutor by recalling previous lessons and answering all ten basic algebra questions correctly without reminders.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Altona Meadows Library and Learning Centre—or at your child's school (with permission), like Seabrook Primary School.
