By giving good pieces of advice by basing myself on my personal experience as a student, I'll make sure that the student is always on the right track. I'll try to inspire students regularly by for example talking about awesome stuffs in science and maths which would…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is help students build confidence while developing a genuine understanding of the subject, rather than simply memorising answers. A good tutor should identify each student's strengths and areas for improvement, personalise lessons to suit their needs, provide constructive feedback, and encourage…

The tutor has so many key responsibilities and actions to do. As he/she needs to aware that individuals are understanding, there should be effective communication, setting realistic goals, creating a supportive environment and also providing them a constructive feedback. In my opinion, the most important thing, that a tutor can do for the student is to understand the problems which the student is facing, and then come up with a plan on how to overcome these problems. Apart from this, understanding the knowledge graph of the student, and teaching him/her according to the pattern, which they understand the most, is…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be patient. Never give up on students. Some students may be fairly poor in understanding certain difficult topics and terms, but the teacher or tutor is responsible to try every possible way to let the student understand the concept. I think teaching students how to be independent is something tutors must do. Prioritizing things like active learning wherein students get to question things themselves, rather than being spoon-fed answers is important. Making them learn that they can find the answers themselves if they put in the effort is important. And obviously creating all…

A tutor can be kind and patient with the student and open to any kind of question, however basic it might be and not ridicule the child. The tutor can also repeat the same thing until the student had finally grasped the concept so that they are completely confident. Having grown up around teachers, I have learnt a lot from them. I have learnt to…

There are 2 jobs of a tutor. To make the student understand what they are learning and also encourage them to do quality practice questions. I also know the importance of practicing these…

Try make tutoring fun, students no matter how hard you try will not retain information and be willing to learn if they are really against it. So by presenting the content in a fun but still effective manner, it is bound to show results. The most important thing when it comes to content is to not spoon feed them with the right answers, you need…

A tutor must be able to secure a positive impression of the subject in the student's mind, regardless of how arduous the subject content might be. A tutor is a third parent and must have immense patience to ensure that the child grasps each and every detail, even if they ask us to repeat what we taught. Besides, as tutors, we must always advocate…

Local Reviews

When we wanted some tailored math support for our daughter and contacted the Ezymath team, we were placed in contact with local tutors in less than 24 hours. The monthly reports can be quite comprehensive too -and the team is always ready to answer any follow up questions you may have. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ezymath to anyone wishing to give their child a boost!

Inside Middle ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Orlah worked through probability and statistics, including box-and-whisker plots and five-figure summaries.

For Year 10, Samuel reviewed trigonometry by combining bearings with SOHCAHTOA and practiced using sine and cosine rules for non-right triangles.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Ava focused on solving and plotting linear equations as well as calculating gradients and y-intercepts from graphs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often forgot to bring essential materials, like their textbook, which meant lessons relied on makeshift resources.

In Year 11 Maths, a tutor noted: "He sometimes thinks he knows the material beforehand," leading to missed steps when new concepts were introduced.

One Year 7 student consistently wrote working in cramped spaces during long division; this caused errors that had to be retraced later.

For SAT preparation (Year 12), homework was left incomplete and feedback not acted upon, so gaps in rearranging equations persisted into practice sessions—leaving accuracy and confidence shaky under timed conditions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Middle Park recently saw Monet, a Year 8 student, start tackling her homework without waiting for prompts—something she'd previously hesitated to do.

In Year 10, one student who used to rush through negative number problems took extra time this week and managed arithmetic with negatives much more accurately.

Another high schooler made a noticeable shift: after weeks of uncertainty with bearings and trigonometry, Saskia confidently combined bearings and SOHCAHTOA methods to calculate distances on her own for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Middle Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Middle Park Primary School.
