A tutor can provide a proper guideline to a student on how to excel in his/her studies. The tutor can primarily create a timetable for a student regarding what amount of time should be spent on studies, when to have recess etc. Time management is really important in a student's life. I think one-to-one learning is essential to help a student…

One of the most important things an economics tutor can do for a student is make students enjoy the subject if not they will not be able to grasp the concepts well enough. Ensuring communication is sound and fixing student doubts then and there so they don't persist is how one can nurture enjoyment in a student. Also making sure the class isn't…

EzyMath Tutoring has provided excellent Tutors for our two children. With their help our daughter was successful in getting into the University course she applied for. Our younger son is also making excellent progress with his Maths tutor, who has developed a great rapport with him. He now has a new found confidence to complete his work.

Inside Narre WarrenTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 Danielle focused on solving worded problems involving integers and time, and was introduced to algebra with worksheets targeting unknown variables.

Year 6 Patrick worked through two-by-two multiplication as well as addition and subtraction strategies, using step-by-step examples for clarity.

For Year 8 Moss, recent sessions included writing essays in TEEL format—one on how bees impact ecosystems—and practising correct punctuation by reading aloud and editing his own work.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 mathematics, one student consistently omitted units and symbols in answers—she doesn't add her units or symbols which then ultimately makes the answer wrong—which led to confusion when marking multi-step problems.

A Year 10 student writing English essays relied heavily on copying research instead of using their own words, making it difficult to show true understanding and resulting in feedback about handwriting not rushing it so he can read his own writing.

In senior classes, incomplete homework was noted as a recurring issue; missed practice limited vocabulary growth and deeper analysis, especially when working with unfamiliar text types.

Recent Achievements

One Narre Warren tutor noted a big shift with Danielle, a high school student who now stops to ask clarifying questions whenever she's stuck on algebra word problems—instead of rushing through and missing key steps as she used to.

In another session, Patrick (also high school) was able to work out two-by-one multiplication almost independently after previously needing step-by-step guidance; he even recognised when he'd made an error and fixed it himself.

Meanwhile, a younger student recently started writing down unfamiliar words with translations during reading activities, something she hadn't done before, and finished her spelling test with only one mistake.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Bunjil Place Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Don Bosco School.
