The most important thing for a chemistry tutor is their ability to be patient and encouraging. Being knowledgeable alone isn't sufficient, as they should also have the personality traits to be a good teacher. Additionally, tutors need to cater their teaching to match the needs of each student to achieve the best outcomes possible. The tutor should…

The most important thing a chemistry tutor can do for a student is to help them learn content rather than simply absorb it. Often students will try to memorise content and methods of problem solving rather than actually understanding why and how to use those methods. If a tutor can help a student adequately understand their studies, I believe the…

I feel I can pass on my motivation to students, as well as the importance of having a positive mindset- especially as you approach senior years in high school. I'm encouraging and I feel that I have the…

A tutor that is able to put the students need in front or before his own is the most important thing. This is what builds and creates trust between the tutor and the student that no matter what the tutor will have the students back. It is just so important that nothing else can come above that. My motivation and dedication towards teaching and…

Honestly, I always say this — grab a pen and paper (or an Apple Pencil and iPad) and draw what you’re explaining because visualising a concept helps the student connect the dots much faster (otherwise they'll loose the train of thoughts". It’s by far the most effective way to teach, in my opinion. The second most important thing? Do your…

I believe enthusiasm and passion are important for a chemistry tutor, as these qualities can give a student drive and motivation to learn and improve. I also believe a tutor should impart not just academic knowledge, but also studying strategies and problem solving skills that will help them in the future. I am organized and motivated, which will…

I think the most important thing a chemistry tutor can do for a student is understand that each student is different and learns best in different ways and at different paces. I also firmly believe that engaging the student by doing things like connecting concepts to the real world or even to the student's own interests is paramount for the overall…

A tutor should understand the student's ability and capacity of learning. Then the tutor should teach the student in a particular way to make him understand the lesson in his unique way. I think i'm empathetic, honest and enthusiastic as a tutor. I have a good listening ability. I encourages independence in student so that they do not rely on the…

The most important thing a chemistry tutor could do for a student is to not give up on them, no matter how much they struggle to learn you should not give up instead you should help them out even more, because I believe if the tutor gives up on the student, the student will only end up giving up on themselves. My strengths as a tutor would be that…

Firstly, being kind, patient and listening to the student matters the most. This is because not everyone is the same, not everyone has the same capacity to understand and grasp the concept. One student may understand it in a minute, whereas another may take 10. So its very important that the tutor is kind, patient and listens to the student.…

I believe the most important thing a chemistry tutor can do is foster independent thinking and understanding. At the end of the day, there is a big difference in simply knowing a concept and truly understanding it. The goal should be to guide students towards a level of comprehension where they can think critically and confidently approach…

A tutor can provide a proper guideline to a student on how to excel in his/her studies. The tutor can primarily create a timetable for a student regarding what amount of time should be spent on studies, when to have recess etc. Time management is really important in a student's life. I think one-to-one learning is essential to help a student…

To be supportive and assist in their learning, and help them find the best way to study I think i'm very encouraging when I teach and I also do my best to help students find the answers themselves instead of just giving them answers consistently. I can describe myself as friendly, enthusiastic and respectful. As a teacher, we can easily get respect from the students if they would feel respected first. Become a role model and help inspire them to become the best version of themselves. I want to be someone who can help them expand their horizon for learning. The most important thing is to be patient and understanding of the student. I believe that in order to teach efficiently, those two core values must be practiced first for the student to truly engage and advance in the learning material. Contrastingly, in a practical sense, the most important thing we can do is to ensure the student understands…

EzyMath Tutoring has provided excellent Tutors for our two children. With their help our daughter was successful in getting into the University course she applied for. Our younger son is also making excellent progress with his Maths tutor, who has developed a great rapport with him. He now has a new found confidence to complete his work.

Inside Narre WarrenTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 Danielle focused on solving worded problems involving integers and time, and was introduced to algebra with worksheets targeting unknown variables.

Year 6 Patrick worked through two-by-two multiplication as well as addition and subtraction strategies, using step-by-step examples for clarity.

For Year 8 Moss, recent sessions included writing essays in TEEL format—one on how bees impact ecosystems—and practising correct punctuation by reading aloud and editing his own work.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 mathematics, one student consistently omitted units and symbols in answers—she doesn't add her units or symbols which then ultimately makes the answer wrong—which led to confusion when marking multi-step problems.

A Year 10 student writing English essays relied heavily on copying research instead of using their own words, making it difficult to show true understanding and resulting in feedback about handwriting not rushing it so he can read his own writing.

In senior classes, incomplete homework was noted as a recurring issue; missed practice limited vocabulary growth and deeper analysis, especially when working with unfamiliar text types.

Recent Achievements

One Narre Warren tutor noted a big shift with Danielle, a high school student who now stops to ask clarifying questions whenever she's stuck on algebra word problems—instead of rushing through and missing key steps as she used to.

In another session, Patrick (also high school) was able to work out two-by-one multiplication almost independently after previously needing step-by-step guidance; he even recognised when he'd made an error and fixed it himself.

Meanwhile, a younger student recently started writing down unfamiliar words with translations during reading activities, something she hadn't done before, and finished her spelling test with only one mistake.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Bunjil Place Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Don Bosco School.
