Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Joanna's maths skills and confidence have greatly improved over the year. I encourage her to try avoid completely depending on rules/memorising every step for doing every question and try to think about what the question is asking so she can apply the appropriate steps. Making sure she constantly backchecks her work at every step is also a great way to comb out small mistakes she may be making.
Very focussed. Willing to learn. Although there is a lot to teach, he is able to grasp some concepts easier than others but eventually gets the hang of things. Keep doing questions. Complete every second question of maths text book for each chapter that is to be covered in class. Any questions he can't do, than ask next lesson before starting new work.
Her work setting out is generally fine, but she should take a bit more care to show exactly where her solution start and to keep her equal signs aligned. When she is correcting her work, she should try and do it more clearly by re writing it again rather than writing over the same line of working. Lola should try and transfer skills from some areas of mathematics to others, such as using algebra skills when working out ratios, rather than segmenting her knowledge.

The sessions are going well. My daughters have responded well to Abed. He is warm and encouraging.
Austin must be a great teacher. Got Anthony to even find it important to do homework in math.
Cobain was very happy with his first visit from Brett and we are poking forward to many more visits
