Teach them ways that help them to understand and let them able to think and solve problems by themselves, rather than only teach the solutions. And try to teach them in the way that they are interested in, such as some demos. I have a high problem-solving ability in Maths and Science, clear structures of lesson and examples. When I learnt, I…

I strongly believe tutors must not only be able to teach content to students well but also act as a role model by guiding them to reaching their full potential. As every student has different needs and struggles, the tutor must cater their approach and method to suit various students as well as being able to engage them in learning the subject as…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to motivate them to produce improved results so that they will be more passionate about the subject. My two main strengths as a tutor is patience and being able to communicate well. Patience is a very valuable skill since each student understands concepts at different paces. Being able to…

I think it is essential for a tutor to be able to motivate and inspire a student so that they are eager to tackle their studies and therefore be more likely to succeed.
Also, it is important to empower a student by explaining things extremely clearly so that they feel as though they are in control of the content and are not fazed by a…

Understanding the point of view of the students. As I have written in the previus question, knowing the weaknesses and strength of the students help the teacher to help and guide them properly. I am specialised in maths.

I think the most important thing a tutor has to address when teaching a student is identifying where they need to improve and exercising that weakness. That way, the students are able to get a good grasp of the area they struggle with and they can seek further help or work on it for future. I am good at explaining mathematical concepts to the…

I find the most important quality of tutors is their ability to be a patient teacher who encourages a feeling of pride in their students. Therefore, I find encouraging a sense of pride in their abilities and work in students is the best thing I can do for students. The ability to put in the time and effort - Sometimes I understand that parents pay a whole lot for their kids to be tutored by us. With that in mind, I really respect the parents in terms of what they hope to achieve with these sessions. When we reach a common ground between the parents, me and the student, I can recommend a time frame after…

In the context of Science and Mathematics, the key aspect is HOW to think. Science requires imagination, innovation as well as an excellent recall and grasp of modern scientific understanding. Mathematics, being a tool - requires the students to be well-equipped with the basic mathematical tools.
To directly answer this question; a tutor must…

Firstly, as a former student I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is inspire and guide a student to learn on their own - as easy as it is to simply give away answers, actually getting someone to really put in a bit more effort is the challenging (and more rewarding) part. After that it just comes down to being able to connect with a…
