Not just tutor them, but be a friend. By opening up and developing a closer bond to students, the students feel more comfortable and it doesn't become a tutoring session, but just a study session. I went through the course(s) myself quite recently, so I understand what's expected on the students, and what they need to do to excel and not only get…

The most important thing about tutoring is not to be teacher. There is no point of me repeating what the teacher taught, but instead spend time assessing what the student, does not understand about the course which is being learnt. Together with student come to understand of why perhaps this is a difficult thing to grasp and work together to…

Be able to explain in a way that the student can understand and be able to take that knowledge outside and be able to do problems by themself with confidance in themselves. I am young and would be able to understand students on a personal level and able to explain concepts and material in a way they would be able to understand, my weaknesses would…

Local Reviews

The ease with which I was assigned an appropriate tutor for my daughter was fantastic, which took alot of pressure off my shoulders. And the independent follow up from the staff at Ezy Math tutoring was/is very professional. I am feeling so comfortable & happy with this service and am at ease with the benefits it will bring my daughter.

Inside Stotts CreekTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Willow focused on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions as well as simplifying them and converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions.

In Year 9, Jeremy worked through trigonometry problems such as finding unknown side lengths or angles in right-angled triangles, alongside reviewing algebra skills like expanding brackets and factorisation to prepare for his exam.

Meanwhile, Year 6 Bella completed English worksheets targeting sentence structure and homonyms, then practised solving elapsed time questions from her maths textbook.

Recent Challenges

In Year 12, one student found themselves unprepared for complex exam-style questions after focusing too much on revising the basics—"I tried to prepare for the basics in all the year 12 curriculum that I wasn't prepared for the in depth exam questions." This approach left them unsure how to start or plan harder problems.

In Year 8 algebra, skipping written steps made it tough to spot sign errors and apply multiple rules at once.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 student forgot to bring paper, which meant missing out on essential area practice during their session—turning what could have been hands-on learning into an incomplete task.

Recent Achievements

One Stotts Creek tutor noticed a big shift with Jeremy, a high schooler who used to get stuck on trigonometry and algebra—he's now working through most problems by himself and can spot his own mistakes without waiting for help.

Willow, also in high school, has become much more independent with fractions: after struggling before, she now converts between them easily and even completed a full worksheet from the Year 7 syllabus on her own.

Meanwhile, Bella in primary school has started asking for extra homework unprompted and is double-checking her answers when something doesn't add up—a big change from relying solely on the tutor's guidance.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Kingscliff Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Duranbah Public School.
