Every student needs help sometimes, and often that help is needed in English. From basics like punctuation, spelling and grammar right up to narrative writing, proof reading and literary analysis. The Australian curriculum is thorough and there are various challenges that pop up for students over the years. At some point most students could use some help and an English tutor does just that - help! Ideally that help comes before the student has formed a negative cycle or fallen into a no-effort habit.
What we do is facilitate that help as a home service, we'll organise an in-home English tutor in Tennyson Point, or wherever it is convenient for you.
A local Tennyson Point English tutor will come to you at a time and day of your chosing and offer tutoring help in a manner tailored for your child's unique situation. The first lesson works as a trial so that if your child doesn't connect well with the tutor, you don't have to pay and we can organise someone else for you.
The terms of service are super simple too. No contracts or minimum hours or cancellation fees or anything like that. You get charged a simple hourly rate. That's it.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Ronnie is confident in Talking aloud during problem solving sessions. More 'pen to paper' practice will greatly improve the conceptual understanding of example past paper questions. Further sessions will focus on note taking and seeking understanding of the concepts involved in various topics. We are off to a great start and look forward to strengthening those areas that require attention!
Very vibrant attitude Asks questions when unsure of the topic being explained Acknowledges importance of lots of practice Solid effort Willing to learn and get better, and put in the extra work Full of energy Does as much work as her time allows Does extra work even if not required of her Hard working
This month I felt like Charlotte really improved on her number patterns and subtraction. Never-the-less, I still do believe that she needs to practice these as her homework so that she does not forget the skills she has developed. Another problem area I observed this month was times tables but then again we have just started them, so obviously this will take time.

Sophie is very happy with Jane as a tutor. Jane is extremely diligent - we have the complication of the UK syllabi and Jane has taken a lot of trouble in her own time, to check up on what Sophie should be learning !
Hello and thank you for your email. We are happy with Philip's progress in these few weeks as you suggest I am sure more time is needed for him to be more confident . We are also happy with his tutor he is very well spoken, polite and gets on well with my son so far.
Thanks Gene, so far, Jamie's response has been very good. He has had 2 lessons to date, as last week was cancelled at our request (he was away on camp). Jamie has responded very well to Eshan, who's approach is unassuming, gentle, but persuasive and constructive. Jamie actually looks forward to spending time with Eshan to teach him his Maths strategies. We look forward to seeing Eshan again next week. Thanks also for the newsletter. I have to say that I think your supportive written material is very useful!
