What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
There are many aspects of tutoring that I enjoy, from helping others learn, to being passionate about a particular subject and sharing it to the student I am tutoring. However, what I most enjoy about tutoring is having a significant impact my students' lives. Where for one student I am helping them catch up in a subject or in another case, I am guiding a high-achiever to even greater heights. It brings me joy and satisfaction to know that the students I tutor are mastering the subjects they were initially struggling in.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
- Patience:
My high levels of patience and resilience will allow even the slowest of learners to gain a footing in the concepts my students are struggling in.
- Problem solving:
If a student doesn't grasp a particular concept, I will think of new ways to convey it to them. For example, I will try to use analogies that they are most familiar with.
- Positive attitude/chill vibes:
If a student makes a mistake or does well I will support them to the best of my abilities, offering words of encouragement to keep their confidence up and fosters their learning.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Being a tutor doesn't mean you just teach a student concepts like ABC, being a tutor is like mentoring someone. Being a mentor is someone that can provide guidance, support, and advice to someone with less knowledge in a particular subject field. In tandem, providing a learning environment that encourages to not fear getting things wrong is also important. Thus, these two aspects combined is critical for a tutor to aid their students.
