What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy helping students understand concepts that they previously didn't and witnessing the joy on their faces as they realise that they now understand the concept.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe that my strength as a tutor is my ability to explain various complex terms in easy-to-understand language to
the students as well as my persistence when facing difficult questions.
Most important things I can do for a student π
One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is build rapport with them and reassure them about their math
concerns. This helps the tutor better understand the student's thinking and therefore reword themselves in a way that the student will better understand. I also believe that it is important for a tutor to first explain the concepts, demonstrate the concept with an example and then ask the students to try a question themselves, explaining their thought processes out loud. This makes the student more aware of the process and helps to identify incorrect thought processes.

As previously stated, is highly recommended that Harris has a reader for his UNIT 3/4 exams as this was the primary reason for losing marks. Harris should look out for incorrectly entered data in his cas when entering big groups of data as answers will change. Harris should practice identifying variables as nominal, ordinal, discrete and continuous as he often gets confused. He should ensure he always shows working out, even in chapter exercises. He should also practice identifying the median, q1 and q3 from a stem and leaf plot or histogram as they can be difficult to identify. Harris should review measures of spread.
Harris is confident with majority of networks and can narrow down the choices to find the correct answer in multiple choice.

Harris needs to remember when to use finance solver vs when to use the normal CAS abilities like solve- finance solver is for compound interest not simple interest.

When attempting the questions that Harris initially got wrong in the exam, he was able to successfully answer the questions and identify the initial mistake, whether it was misreading the question, forgetting to round the decimal, or colouring the wrong box on the multiple choice sheet. The best section was networks with very few incorrect answers.
Harris needs to practice doing exams under timed conditions, ensuring there is time to check over his answers. It is highly recommended that Harris has a reader for his UNIT 3/4 exams as this was the primary reason for losing marks.

Harris should practice more backwards scanning questions as it can be easy to miss a path and get the wrong answers.
