What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As cliche as it is, I enjoy helping people. I have younger siblings and cousins, and so have spent much of my life being a guide for them and teaching them important skills. The satisfaction I get from helping someone understand or do something that they may not have been able to without my help is immeasurable.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am a very clear communicator. This comes across in all aspects of my life, but especially so when I am teaching or explaining. I think I am very good at recognising the level to which someone understands or has been exposed to a topic, and tailoring explanations to that specific level.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think understanding is the most important skill for a tutor to possess. Explaining a topic is one thing, but doing so at a level that is useful for the student is another thing entirely. As a tutor, you need to be able to understand what it is that a student already understands, what it is they are struggling with, and why they are struggling. Doing so means that you are able to explain and help in a way that isn't only enriching for them, but also doesn't insult their intelligence.
