What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy helping students enjoy learning so that they can get excited to learn new concepts and skills. It's incredibly rewarding to see their confidence grow as they grasp new material. I also enjoy helping challenging ideas become more accessible by breaking them down into simpler, more understandable parts. Watching students have those 'aha!' moments, where something finally clicks for them, is one of the most fulfilling parts of tutoring. Itβs not just about helping them understand the subject at hand but also encouraging a love for learning that will stay with them beyond our sessions.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strength as a tutor lies in creating personalized learning experiences. While tutoring Fijian orphans overseas, I designed math lessons from scratch, tailoring them to each student's needs. I focus on simplifying complex concepts and making lessons engaging. Teaching over Zoom strengthened my communication skills, allowing me to explain ideas clearly and use digital tools effectively. I'm patient and adaptable, always adjusting my approach to ensure each student feels supported and confident in their learning. In 2024 I completed Specialist VCE and Math Methods both with a 40+ study score.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, foster a love of learning, and provide clear, personalized guidance. A good tutor helps students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling challenges, creating an environment where they can make mistakes and learn from them. Itβs also crucial to tailor lessons to the student's unique learning style, making the material engaging and accessible. Finally, being patient and encouraging helps students stay motivated and believe in their ability to succeed.
