What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

During my tutoring sessions, I enjoy breaking down challenging technical concepts into smaller digestible parts and demonstrating the (usually) simple logic underpinning them. I also greatly enjoy conveying enthusiasm for the subject that I'm teaching, to my students, and inspire them with anecdotes of interesting real-world applications, so that they also develop an interest.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my main strength as a tutor is my own passion for learning - I am an avid reader of textbooks and also a voracious consumer of online video lectures. Each time, I encounter a great teacher, I am always left inspired. I try to convey that same joy and enthusiasm to my students, which helps alleviate their fears for the subject and begin to see learning as an enjoyable journey, despite the challenge and effort involved.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

One of the most important things a tutor can do is to identify effective pedagogical strategies based on the individual needs of a student. For example, identifying a suitable progression scheme (such as deciding how much emphasis to place on sub-topics, and how frequently to administer tests/quizzes) which helps the student cover the learning material thoroughly, without any gaps. Another important thing that a tutor can do is try to make the learning material more engaging and fun, which helps the student less fearful, more confident in their ability and perform better in assessments.
